A Scarce 1814 French Garde du Corps du Roi Pistol. With blued barrel, retained by a sprung barrel band also forming the ramrod entry, the breech with a band of stamped and gilt decoration, blued tang, the lock engraved in script, ‘Maubeuge Manuf. Rle.’ And stamped with an inspectors mark behind the brass pan, figured full-stock steamed with inspectors marks, brass mounts comprising rounded side-plate, trigger guard with fleur-de-lys shaped finial, and rounded butt cap cast and chased with the crowned arms of France within laurels, iron ramrod.
