A Double Barrel Flintlock Pistol by Collis of Oxford. With round three-stage turn off cannon barrels, octagonal breeches numbered ‘1’ and ‘2’ respectively and struck with Tower of London private proofs, border engraved box-lock action, decorated with scrolling foliage throughout and signed, ‘COLLIS’ and ‘OXFORD’ on scrolls, fitted with sliding pan cover, swelling walnut butt inlaid with fine silver wire work, with flowers and scrolls (85% remaining) vacant silver escutcheon and silver grotesque mask, steel trigger guard decorated with a flower within a diamond.
