An Elaborate Pair of Austrian Flintlock Holster Pistols. With beautifully etched, sighted octagonal to round barrels decorated with silver beading at the muzzles and silver scrollwork covering almost the entire length of the barrels, steel tangs incorporating folding leaf-sights (one damaged) and both engraved ‘B’ at the tail of the tang, chased locks and cocks depicting a dog in pursuit of deer, the cock decorated with a hunter, full-stocked in walnut, carved with raised scrolling foliate mouldings around the lock, tang and ramrod pipes, complete with gilt mounts including engraved side-plates depicting a hunting scene, profusely engraved butt caps, trigger guard and ramrod pipes. An interesting and unusual pair of hunting pistols.
