An Unusual Flintlock Queen Anne Pistol by Walker. With turn-off cannon barrel, breech engraved ‘London’ waisted foliate engraved tang, plain action signed beneath the steel-spring ‘WALKER’ and with Walkers barrel smiths mark and London proofs, figured walnut butt with elaborate silver escutcheon and silver lions head butt mask.

John, Apprenticed to Joseph Shorey, 1717; free of Gunmakers Co., by redemption (his master dying) and proof approved, 1722. Elected assistant 1740; Master 1744. Gunmaker to East India Co., 1736-47. Died 1748. Shop at the Cross Guns & Sun, Lombard Street, taken over by Thomas Gibson.
