A Flintlock Cannon Barrel Pistol by Collumbell of London. With round sighted, three-stage turn-off barrel, the fore-sight is off-set to the left and appears to be contemporary with the pistol, the frizen has been drilled through, acting as the rear sight, border engraved box-lock action decorated with scrolling foliage and signed on a rococo scroll COLUMBELL to the right and LONDON to the left. Swelling walnut stock, (some old repairs) with silver grotesque mask, and vacant silver escutcheon, trigger guard decorated with foliage on the bow, also sliding forward too act as a safety, Stamped with London proofs at the breech (rubbed).
The pistol appears to be signed by the original owner, it is stamped underneath the lock, either side of the trigger. I can’t quite make out all of the characters.
