An Untouched Flintlock Holster Pistol by Wogdon, Circa 1780. With untouched barrel stamped with London proofs and signed ‘London’ in script along the top flat, plain steel tang, plain rounded lock signed ‘Wogdon’ in script, highly figured walnut full-stock, completed with plain brass mounts comprising long-eared butt-cap, vacant escutcheon and trigger guard with tear drop finial, with original ram-rod with worm. A superb example.

This pistol is of particular interest as it has a Board of Ordnance approval stamp within the ramrod channel. This would mark it as a pistol made for military use, possibly a dragoon officer or a revenue officer.
