An Untouched Pair of 54-Bore Percussion Target or Duelling Pistols by Williams & Powell, 25 South Castle Street, Liverpool. With browned Damascus twist octagonal sighted barrels each singed in full on along the top flats, blued fore-sights, case hardened patent breeches each engraved with scrolling foliage with pierced platinum plugs, foliate engraved case-hardened tangs each with back-sights, signed border engraved locks, decorated with scrolling foliage, dolphin hammers en suite with the locks, figured walnut half-stocks, chequered butts, with engraved steel butt-caps and ovoid pommels, blued engraved trigger guards decorated with scrolling foliage and stylised pineapple finials, escutcheon engraved with the original owners crest, retaining a large amount of original finish: in original lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories including powder flask, loading rod, bullet mould and original replacement nipples, the exterior of the lid with circular flush-fitting escutcheon. A lovely pair of pistols.
