A 14-Bore Steel Mounted Flintlock Holster Pistol By Barbar of London, Circa 1740. With round three-stage barrel engraved with a line of foliage at the breech, engraved tang, signed border engraved rounded lock, moulded figured walnut full-stock, with deeply chiselled apron around the tang, (old repair to the wrist) border engraved mounts comprising a pierced side plate, escutcheon shaped as a trophy of arms, spurred pommel and trigger guard with foliate engraving on the bow, turned ramrod pipes with original horn tipped ramrod (damaged), private London proof marks.
