A Superb Pair of Flintlock Duelling Pistols by Howe of Colchester. With heavy octagonal sighted barrels, with oval gold makers stamps inlet at the breech and gold touch holes, profusely engraved tangs, decorate with scrolling foliage and martial trophies, stepped border engraved locks, fitted with sliding safety catches and retaining much original colour, half-stocked in walnut cut with deep chequering at the grips, with vacant shield-shaped escutcheons, profusely engraved blued trigger guard with pineapple finials and turned ramrod pipes, the mounts retaining all of their original blue, original horn-tipped ramrods with worms.
