A Cased 18-Bore Flintlock Sporting Gun by Wheeler, London, Circa 1820. With two-stage browned twist barrel fitted with silver fore-sight, stamped 'London' over the breech section, case-hardened breech inlaid with two gold lines and with platinum vent, signed border-engraved case-hardened lock fitted with roller and rainproof pan, figured walnut half-stock, chequered grip, carved raised cheek-piece, engraved steel mounts comprising scrolling trigger-guard decorated with geese on the bow and butt-plate with short tang each retaining some early blued finish, blued rear ramrod-pipe, vacant silvered escutcheon, two pairs of silvered barrel bolt escutcheons, horn fore-end cap, and original horn-tipped wooden ramrod: in its original fitted mahogany case lined in green baize, with removable lock tray, complete with a steel two-way shot charge holder, powder-flask, and mainspring clamp.
