A Scarce Thames River Police Sword, With slightly curved single edged blade, cut with a long deep fuller along the back edge, double edged towards the point, solid brass hilt, contained in its original leather scabbard with brass locket and chape. In lovely untouched condition.

The Thames River Police Sword was adopted by The Metropolitan Police in 1829.
