A Scarce Ordnance Short Land Pattern Brownbess. With sighted tapering round barrel stamped with Ordnance proofs and engraved ‘1-A-V-I’ on the top of the barrel, plain tang struck with indistinct mark, rounded lock with ‘GR’ crowned and ‘TOWER’ across the tail, full-stocked in walnut with apron around the tang and struck with Ordnance marks, regulation brass mounts including escutcheon, butt-plate, trigger guard and ramrod pipes, with an associated bayonet. In good overall condition.
