A Percussion Pocket Pistol by Sherwood of London. With octagonal turn-off barrel signed, ‘SHERWOOD LONDON’ along the top flat and decorated with a band at the muzzle (barrel frozen) foliate engraved tutaneg box-lock action, stamped with London proofs at the breech, profusely engraved dolphin hammer retaining some original finish, folding trigger, walnut butt inlaid with silver wire and foliage, engraved tutaneg butt cap.

With brother William, gunlock makers, 67 East Smithfield, 1822-7; 12 Wellclose Sq., 1828-42. On his own, 1843-6. Contract to Ordnance, 1838; East India Co., 1822-46. Married Sarah Frith, daughter of Ezekiel Baker, 1845. Died in 186 succeeded by widow.
