With slender tapering blade of hexagonal section with blued and gilt with martial trophies, ‘GR’ crowned and foliage against the blued background, regulation gilt-copper stirrup hilt engraved with a fouled anchor on each langet, cast and chased lion-mask pommel, its mane extending back to form the back-piece, and swelling grip bound with twisted wire, in black leather scabbard with gilt-copper locket, chape and suspension mount each engraved with strapwork, the former signed in full on one side and with two suspension rings.
