A Cased Pair of Saw-Handled Duelling Pistols by Tirebuck of London, Circa 1815. With browned sighted octagonal barrels signed, ‘London’ in Gold along the top-flats, double gold line inlaid breech blocks with platinum touch-holes, foliate engraved tangs, incorporating back-sights, stepped locks profusely engraved with foliage, signed ‘Joseph Tirebuck’ in script and ’56 HAY-MARKET’ profusely engraved cock, top-jaws and frizens, (one spring replaced) set-triggers, half-stocked in walnut cut with fine chequering at the grips, engraved silver mounts comprising bands around the grip, escutcheons and engraved fore-ends, engraved steel trigger guards decorated with globes surrounded arms on the bow and pineapple finials, brass tipped ramrods: in a period re-lined case with all accessories in eluding powder flask, bullet mould.
