A Fine 10-Bore Percussion Double-Barrelled Sporting Gun, No. 2415. With round Damascus twist barrels, the top rib signed ‘John Blissett 321 High Holborn London’ foliate engraved breech block with platinum plugs, profusely engraved barrel tang, border and scroll engraved locks, engraved with hunting dogs and signed ‘J. Blissett, London’ fully scroll engraved hammers, chequered walnut half-stock, blued and engraved iron furniture retaining virtually all its original colour.

The previous owner of this gun has had the central rib of this gun expertly re-laid.

John Son of Isaac, born 1808. Gunmaker and jeweller, 74 High Holborn, 1832-5; 321 High Holborn, 1836-50 (315 High Holborn, 1847); 322 high Holborn, 1851-66. Became John Blissett & Son. Granted Regd. Design No. 1050 (air gun walking stick), 1847; British Patent No. 2069 (revolver loading lever), 1855/ Died 1872.
