A Scarce Beringer-System Breech Loading W. Greener Rifle. With browned sighted octagonal to round rifled barrel, fitted with folding leaf sight towards the breech, unusual rotating breech, the trigger guard is pulled out to the right and the entire breech turns 90 degrees so a bullet can be loaded in the front and a percussion cap can be placed on a nipple at the rear of the breech, this is a Beringer-system variant. the trigger guard is then swung back into position, profusely engraved tang, engraved with a leopards head, back action lock signed ‘W. Greener London’ decorated with scrolling foliage throughout and a wild bore, half-stocked in walnut with hot fore-end, cut with chequering at the grip, foliate engraved steel butt plate (engraving rubbed).
