A Double Barrel Flintlock Pocket Pistol

A Double Barrel Flintlock Pocket Pistol by Collis of Oxford. With round turn-off barrels, line engraved box-lock action, stamped with Tower of London private proofs, signed on the panels, ‘COLLIS’ within an oval surrounded by stands of arms, and ‘OXFORD’ to the right, fitted with a tap to the side and a sliding safety catch, slab sided walnut butt (small chip to the left hand side – see the photographs) with vacant shield-shaped escutcheon.
