An Incredibly Scarce Flintlock Blunderbuss Grenade Launcher. With round three-stage cannon barrel, stamped ‘LONDON’ and decorated with foliage at the breech end, interestingly stamped with London proofs and also stamped with later Birmingham proofs (I have not seen this before) plain steel tang (signs of an old repair) stepped bevelled lock, signed ’Stanton’ in script, full-stocked in walnut (old repair to the wrist and above the lock – see pictures) with ‘Elephant and Castle’ escutcheon, foliate engraved butt plate, border engraved trigger guard, turned ramrod pipes, horn tipped ramrod with worm.
