An 1897 Pattern Sword
An 1897 Pattern Officers Sword. The sword has a straight ‘dumbbell’ blade double-edged towards the point, cut with a large central fuller. The blade is etched with the makers name ‘Johnson & Co’ etched with scrolled foliate design and with a crowned GR. The sword has a three quarter basket hilt, with steel back-strap and wire bound fish skin grip, complete in original steel scabbard with two hanging rings.
