A Very Good Cased Tranter Rim-Fire Army Revolver by John Rigby & Co, No. 5288. With octagonal sighted barrel engraved around the muzzle, top flat engraved, ‘Jno Rigby & Co 72 St. James St. London’, cylinder with knurled forward edge, border engraved frame, trigger-guard and butt-cap, fitted with patent rammer to the side, and hanged loading gate, chequered walnut butt, in fine condition overall retiring large amount of original finish: in its original lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories including loading rod, turn-screw and James Dixon & Sons oil bottle, the interior of the lid with trade label of John Rigby & Co, the exterior of the lid with vacant circular brass escutcheon.
