A Superb Zischagge, 17th Century.
With single piece skull with six radiating ribs, four lame articulated tail with turned edge and domed rivets, bevelled cheek-pieces pierced with four holes, broad pointed peak with turned edge, sliding nasal bar retained by a screw with a heart shaped terminal, the upper end of the nasal bar has leaf shaped terminal. The peak is stamped with an armourers mark. The helmet retains nearly all of its original munitions colouring. A superb example.
