A Superb Steel Barrelled Blunderbuss
With three stage octagonal to round steel barrel fitted with over-slung bayonet and stamped ‘LONDON’, foliate engraved tang fitted with bayonet release catch, stepped, bevelled lock signed ‘SIMMONS’ fitted with a sliding safety catch and decorated with scrolling foliage and a sun-burst beneath the pan, full stocked in highly figured walnut, cut with a deep band of chequering at the grip, beautifully engraved steel mounts, comprising butt cap, pillared trigger guard and turned ram rod pipes, original horn-tipped ramrod with worm. A superb, untouched example.
