A Small Flintlock Blunderbuss by Joyner of London. With swelling three-stage octagonal to round barrel, stamped with London proofs at the breech, signed ‘London’ in script along the top flat and decorated with a geometric band at the breech, fitted with a sprung bayonet, simple border engraved tang fitted with bayonet release catch, stepped border engraved brass lock, signed in script and decorated with foliage towards the tail, full-stocked in walnut (some old spliced repairs to the woodwork) with engraved brass mounts comprising pierced scrolling side-plate, vacant oval escutcheon, butt plate and trigger guard decorated with a flower on the bow and with acorn finial, horn tipped ramrod (possibly a later replacement).
