A Silver Hilted Hunting Hanger

An English Silver-Mounted Hanger, Circa 1730-40. With slightly curved blade fullered along the back-edge of each side, double edged at the point, cast and chased hilt comprising down bent shell-guard with a scallop shell above foliage against a finely punched ground, lobed rear quill, quill-block, knuckle guard hooked with the domed pommel-cap, all decorated en suite, the last with tang button, and tapering spirally grooved fish-skin covered grip, bound with twisted silver wire.
