A Percussion Howdah Pistol by Mortimer
A Crisp 16 Bore Percussion Over & Under Howdah Pistol by Mortimer of Edinburgh. With colour case hardened sighted barrels engraved around the muzzles, engraved ‘MORTIMER EDINBURGH’ in Gothic script along the top-flat, fitted with captive ramrod below and stamped with London proofs, case-hardened scroll engraved box-lock action, hammers decorated era suite, foliate scroll engraved trigger guard, finely chequered rounded butt (small area of damage at top of grip -see pictures) case-hardened ovoid butt plate with hinged butt-trap cover, vacant rectangular escutcheon, blued belt hook. In fine original condition retaining a large amount of original colour.
