With sighted barrels, fitted with a captive ramrod beneath and stamped with London proofs, profusely engraved box-lock action, signed along the tang, ‘JAMES BEATTIE 223 REGENT STREET LONDON’ foliate engraved cocks, (old repair to spur of right trigger) fitted with sliding safety catches, foliate engraved trigger guard retaining some original finish, with finely chequered rounded butt, with vacant rectangular escutcheon, case-hardened ovoid butt plate with hinged butt-trap cover. In nice condition retaining traces of original colour
