A Pair of Over & Under Pistols by Spencer

A Pair Of 88-Bore Over-And-Under Flintlock Box-Lock Tap-Action Pistols signed Spencer, London, circa 1815. With turn-off barrels numbered respectively from ‘1’ to ‘3’, signed border engraved actions each signed within a trophy of arms, engraved thumbpiece safety-catches also locking the steels, rollers, blued steel-springs (one discoloured), engraved trigger-guards, flat-sided figured walnut butts (minor bruising) each with chequered spine, silver escutcheons, and engraved flat silver pommels, with crimson ‘shoddies’, probably original, containing the barrel key, and retaining a label inscribed ‘These are loaded’, in fine condition, with only small areas of discolouration, Birmingham proof marks.
