A Pair of Flintlock Queen Anne Pistols by Collumbell of London. With three-stage turn-off cannon barrels, breeches engraved ‘COLLUMBELL’ and stamped with London proofs and COLLUMBELLs own mark, decorated with sprays of foliage at the breech and engraved ‘LONDON’, profusely engraved tangs, cocks engraved with foliage at the rear, trigger guards engraved with a flower head within a border, trigger guards also acting as a sliding safety catches, figured globose butts with raised mouldings around the tangs, silver mounts comprising side-plates depicting a castle and stands of arms, escutcheons engraved with a hand surrounded by a wreath, silver grotesque masks stamped with silver hallmarks, in good crisp condition overall.
