A Militia Hanger
An English Infantry Hanger for the Cumberland Militia. With slightly curved blade, cut with a long fuller running along the back edge, marked on both sides with the running fox of Samuel Harvey and stamped with Government inspection marks at the hilt, Brass hilt of standard pattern, the heart shaped guard marked M = Cumberland and 4/49. The sword in very good condition overall.
