A Huge Rifled Flintlock Tap Action Pistol
A Huge Rifled 20-Bore Flintlock Over & Pistol by Blissett of London. With round turn-off barrels, stamped with Birmingham proofs, border engraved box-lock action decorated with a spray of foliage to the left hand side, signed ‘BLISSETT’ to the left and ‘LONDON’ to the right, fitted above with a sliding safety catch, slab sided walnut butt with vacant oval escutcheon.
Isaac Hair manufacturer, perfumer and jeweller, 69 Leadenhall St., 1808-22; became gun dealer and maker, 1822-46. Died 1847, aged 69.
