A Historic Pott
With hemispherical skull formed in two pieces joined medially by rivets, pierced finial riveted at its apex through a circular washer, projecting forward as a broad integral peak, pierced at its rear with a rectangular hole to accommodate a sliding nasal bar secured at the brow by a staple and locking screw, fitted at its nape with a three-lame neck guard turned at its edge and decorated with studs, with broad pendent cheek pieces each narrowing to its lower end and pierced with circular ventilation holes.
Higgins Armory Museum was a non-profit museum, located in Worcester, Massachusetts, dedicated to the display of arms and armour. According to the Boston Globe, from its founding in 1931 until 2004 it was "the only museum in the country devoted solely to arms and armour," and had the second largest arms and armour collection in the country behind the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The collection consisted of 2,000 objects, including 24 full suits of armour. In March 2013, it was announced that the museum will be closing at the end of that year due to its unsustainable financial situation. The entire Higgins collection as well as its endowment is being transferred and integrated into the Worcester Art Museum, and installed in a new gallery slated to open in 2015.
