A Good English Rapier, Circa 1630. With tapering single edged blade, traces of engraving remain towards the forte, iron hilt comprising boat guard pierced with petals each framing trelliswork, joined to down scrolled quillons and scrolling side-bars, joined to the knuckle guard with central moulding, fluted globular pommel chiselled with foliage above and below, original wire bound grip bound with twisted and plaited copper wire. In lovely original condition.
