A Flintlock Blunderbuss by Mewis & Co.
A Flintlock Blunderbuss by Mewis & Co. of London. With belled three-stage barrel, engraved with flower heads along the top flat, fitted with sprung bayonet, flat border engraved lock, signed ‘Mewis & Co.’ in script, full-stocked in walnut (some cracks and splits commensurate with age), with engraved brass mounts comprising foliate side-plate, butt plate and trigger guard with acorn finial, with brass tipped wooden ramrod with worm.
