A Fine East India Government Pistol
A fine 16 bore percussion holster pistol built for the East India Government in 1869. The blued barrel is struck with Birmingham inspector’s marks and proof marks, the bore still retains its original bright polish. The walnut full-stock is struck with the Birmingham inspector’s mark, the stock-makers “COOPER & GOODMAN’ and the Birmingham E.I.G. storekeeper’s stamp. The colour case hardened lock is stamped Birmingham 1869 and with a crowned broad arrow above E.I.G. together with a Birmingham inspector’s stamp. The pistol is fitted with regulation brass mounts, a swivel ramrod and lanyard ring.
