A Crisp Flintlock Overcoat Pistol by John Cuff. With sighted octagonal barrel, inlaid with gold signature along the top of the barrel, ‘JOHN CUFF,LONDON’ and with a single gold line at the breech, with platinum touch hole, engraved steel tang fitted with rear-sight, stepped bevelled lock, engraved ‘CUFF’ beneath the rain-proof pan, fitted with a sliding safety catch and decorated with foliage at the tail of the lock, full-stocked in walnut and cut with chequering at the grip with vacant rectangular escutcheon, blued mounts comprising trigger guard decorated with stands of arms on the bow and pineapple finial, turned ramrod pipe, with original horn tipped ramrod with concealed worm.
