A Cased Pair of Percussion Officers Pistols by D. Egg. With heavy sighted octagonal barrels, signed ‘D.Egg, No.1 Pall Mall, London’ along the top flats, converted from flintlock to percussion, with foliate engraved breeches and tangs incorporating rear-sights, percussion locks signed ‘John Thomson’ (possibly the gunmaker that converted the guns from flint) half-stocked in walnut (one stock cracked through and repaired) cut with chequering at the grip, vacant rectangular escutcheons, with engraved steel mounts comprising butt-caps and trigger guards depicting a tiger in the wild, stylised pineapple finials: in their original lined case with accessories including powder flask and loading rod, the interior of the lid with Eggs label, the exterior of the lid with flush fitting carrying handle.
