A Cased Colt 1849 Model Pocket Revolver, No. 7440. With octagonal sighted barrel with two-line London address, with five-shot roll-engraved cylinder, frame stamped ‘Col’s Patent’ on the left, rammer, scarce steel trigger guard and back-strap, matching numbers throughout; in original mahogany case lined and fitted in blue velvet, with accessories including fine James Dixon & Sons powder flask, steel bullet mould stamped, ‘COLTS PATENT’ percussion cap tin, cleaning rod and turn-screw, the exterior of the lid with vacant brass escutcheon.
