A Cased Adams 38 Bore Revolver
A Cased 38-Bore Adams 1851 Model ‘Dragoon’ Revolver. With blued octagonal sighted barrel, and engraved with makers name and address along the top-strap, plain cylinder stamped with London proofs, blued border engraved frame decorated with scroll work on each side (some dings and pitting) foliate engraved trigger guard and ovoidal butt-cap with hinged trap, cover engraved with a scallop shell, chequered rounded butt, retaining approximately 30% of its original finish: in what appears to be its original lined and fitted oak case, the base has been re-lined in its working life, with accessories including bullet mould, powder flask, etc, the interior of the lid with makers label and signed, in pencil, inside along the case with what appears to be a dedication, the exterior with vacant brass escutcheon.
