A Flintlock Carriage Pistol by McDermott of Dublin. With sighted double barrels, engraved steel tang, cut with a sighting groove, stepped bevelled locks signed ‘McDERMOTT and fitted with sliding safety catches at the rear, (locks rubbed) border engraved cocks decorated with stands of arms, half-stocked in walnut, cut with chequering at the grip oval escutcheon retaining traces of original owners crest, silver butt cap, steel trigger guard (rubbed) horn tipped ramrod. A nice large example of an Irish carrigae pisol in used condition overall.
