With sighted octagonal barrel, signed in script, ‘— W, Powell late SIMMONS —‘ along the top flat, double platinum line breech, with platinum plug, profusely engraved tang fitted with rear sight, border engraved lock, signed in the top corner and decorated with scrolling foliage, the cock a later replacement, half-stocked in walnut, cut with chequering at the grip, with engraved oval butt escutcheon, spurred trigger guard with pineapple finial and horn tipped ramrod.
