A Pair of Double Barrel Box-Lock Pistols by Barbar of London. With round turn-off cannon barrels numbered ‘1’, ‘2’ and ‘3’ and struck beneath with Tower of London private proof marks, border engraved box-lock actions, profusely engraved with foliage on both sides, signed ‘BARBAR LONDON’ on foliate scrolls, engraved sliding pan covers, border engraved cocks and steels, sliding trigger guard safety catches, the trigger guards engraved with a flower head within a diamond on the bow, swelling figured rounded butts, profusely inlaid with silver scrollwork, oval escutcheons both engraved with a skull and crossbones, silver grotesque masks stamped with silver hallmarks, in good crisp condition overall.
