An incredibly rare Albert Pattern silvered helmet of the Lancashire Mounted Rifle Volunteers, within the white metal helmet plate there are three lions (attributed to the then Duke of Lancaster) white metal furniture and red and white horse hair plume.
An old label states:
"The unit was raised in Manchester in March 1860 and was disbanded in February 1861. The successor regiment, 'The 1st Lancashire Light Horse Volunteers' survived until 1874"
A fine and rare helmet.
