With tapering single edged blade cut with two narrow fullers running along the back edge, the fullers are stamped X X ANDREA X X on one side and X X FARARA X X on the other, many sword ‘cuts’ and ‘knicks’ to the cutting edge, iron guard of slender line engraved bars of rectangular section framing fretted incised panels with circular shaped piercings, the central and side panels each pierced with hearts (some splits and cracks commensurate with age) fluted bun shaped pommel with button, original wire bound fish skin grip and liner. The sword is russet uncleaned colour overall. It is scarce to find an untouched example.
