An Irish Percussion Pistol by Goodson of Dublin, With browned sighted barrel engraved ‘Dublin’ in the sighting groove, breech engraved with foliage, profusely engraved tang grooved for sighting, profusely engraved back-action lock, decorated with scrolling foliage and signed ‘GOODSON’ cock decorated en suite, full-stocked in walnut (slither repair to woodwork towards the muzzle) cut with a band of chequering at the grip with slightly rounded butt, with silver escutcheon bearing the crest of the original owner, a Cresent moon and the initials ’T. H. G.’ The butt has cavities for balls and is covered by a hinged extension from the barrel tang, blued trigger guard with pineapple finial and engraved with foliage on the bow.
