A Highly Unusual Irish 18-Bore Flintlock Double Barrel Carbine With Spring Bayonet by George Turner, Dublin. With re-browned twist octagonal barrels and rectangular breeches, board sighting flat signed in full in foliate script, engraved with a martial trophy at the breeches and with brass bead fore-sight, box-lock action engraved with martial trophies, and with a scrolled serpent with two heads on the upper and lower tangs, engraved safety catches each engaging with the back of the ring neck cocks, rectangular pans each eiyh platinum lined touch-hole, figured butt (some bruising) with chequered grip, vacant white metal escutcheon on the left flat behind the action, border engraved steel butt plate and trigger guard each decorated with a martial trophy, spring bayonet with catch and mechanism mounted in front of the trigger guard, and brass mounted ramrod.
