A Flintlock Blunderbuss by Whitney of Cork, With octagonal to round three-stage barrel, belled at the muzzle, engraved with foliage and geometric designs at the breech, stamped with what appear to be London proofs and signed ‘Cork’ and stamped with Irish registration marks ‘EC-286’, foliate engraved steel tang, border engraved lock decorated with sprays of foliage and signed ‘Whitney’ full-stocked in walnut with engraved brass mounts comprising foliate engraved butt-plate, trigger guard engraved with a flower on the bow with acorn finial, one turned ramrod pipe, horn-tipped ramrod.
