An English Dish-Hilt Rapier, 17th Century. With slender tapering double edged blade of ovoidal section with central fuller on each face of the forte inlaid with a running wolf in brass within the fuller, iron hilt comprising shallow pierced dish-guard chiselled with scrolling foliage both internally and externally, straight rear quillon with bud-shaped terminal, plain knuckle guard with central bud-shaped feature, globular pommel with button and chiselled with scrollwork, spirally twist grip bound with silver wire between Turk’s heads.
