An Early Flintlock Queen Anne Pistol by George Reed of London, Circa 1740. With three-stage cannon barrel, breech engraved, ‘Geo REED’ stamped with London proofs and Foreigner’s mark, foliate engraved tang, border engraved action, cock and steel, swelling figured walnut butt, carved in relief with foliage behind the barrel tang (repair to the base of stock), cast and chased silver mounts comprising side-plate, vacant escutcheon and grotesque butt cap.
