A fine 16 bore percussion holster pistol built for the East India Government in 1869. The blued barrel is struck with Birmingham inspector’s marks and Tower of London military proof marks, and the bore still retains its original bright polish. The walnut fullstock is struck with the Birmingham inspector’s mark, the stockmakers "Cooper & Goodman” and the Birmingham E.I.G. storekeeper’s stamp. The butt is stamped FA 3 1885 (Ferozepore Arsenal). The colour case hardened lock is stamped Birmingham 1869 and with a crowned broad arrow above E.I.G. together with a Birmingham inspector’s stamp. The pistol is fitted with regulation brass mounts, a swivel ramrod and lanyard ring, and the butt is numbered 227.

Notes:

This pistol is from a group discovered in unissued condition in the 1960’s and is preserved in almost mint condition and retains virtually all its original finish.
